Before You Start

  • Processing takes 1–3 minutes on average. There is no guaranteed processing time.

  • AI-FX images are shared with guests via email or SMS once rendering is complete. AirDrop sends only the original image.

  • Virtual Booth does not support AI-FX.

  • Multiple frame templates are not supported.

  • AI may produce unexpected results including changes to facial features, gender, or skin tone. This is normal and cannot be controlled.

  • We recommend using ChatGPT to help generate detailed prompts, especially for Styled effects.

  • Always test your filter before event day. Each test consumes the full credit cost shown on the Test screen.

How PersonaFX Works

PersonaFX is a custom prompt AI Effect, like BananaFX. You write your own prompt to control what the AI generates. PersonaFX is powered by OpenAI's GPT Image 2 model, and is built for high-fidelity, photorealistic portraits.

PersonaFX and BananaFX are both Custom Prompt filters, but they're built on different models with different strengths:

Speed

BananaFX 2.0

Nano Banana Pro

Studio-quality output, accurate text-in-image rendering, consistent identity across subjects

Complex compositions, branded content, the highest-quality single renders

Fast — about 20–30 seconds, depending on wifi

BananaFX 3.0

Nano Banana 2

Fast generation, supports multiple reference images, strong prompt understanding

Quick turnarounds, group photos, high-volume events

Fast — about 20–30 seconds, depending on wifi

PersonaFX 2.0

GPT Image 2

State-of-the-art photorealism, near-perfect text rendering, strong instruction-following

Photorealistic single-subject portraits, text-heavy outputs

Slower — up to 60 seconds

Choose PersonaFX when you need the most realistic possible portrait of a single guest, or when your output needs accurate text. Choose BananaFX when you're photographing groups, or when render speed matters more than maximum photorealism.

AI Credits

PersonaFX runs on Snappic's AI-FX credit system. Credits are purchased in advance and consumed each time an AI image is generated or tested.

Credits are priced at $0.10 per credit — for example, 200 credits costs $20, and 1,000 credits costs $100.

Each filter's credit cost is shown under the filter name on the Edit AI Filter screen, and again on the Test screen before you run a test. Testing a filter also consumes credits, so check the cost before running a test.

To buy more credits, see Setting Up AI-FX.

How to Create a PersonaFX Filter

  1. Go to the Features tab in your event dashboard.

  2. Select AI Experience and click Save Changes. You should be automatically directed to set up your AI Experience. If not, go to AI Templates on your dashboard.

  3. Click Add AI Filter to open the AI Filters Gallery.

  4. Select the Custom tab.

  5. Select PersonaFX 2.0. Click Close.

6. Click Edit on the filter to open the AI Effect Options window.

7. Enter a Name for your filter, or keep the default name.

8. Enter your prompt in the Prompt field.

💡 Add Custom Text: To do this, first set up surveys by going to Event Options and enable Surveys. Then in the AI Edits section, use Insert field to add a dynamic value, like the guest's first name, into your prompt. The option you added to your survey will appear here. Use Manage Mappings to control how your survey fields map to those values.

9. (Optional) Click Enhance Prompt to refine your prompt wording, or Expand to edit it in a larger window.

10. (Optional) Set Enhance Face Likeness to Yes.

⚠️ Important: Enhance Face Likeness only works with real, photographic images. It does not work with stylized images, like cartoon styles. Turning it on adds 1 credit to the cost of running the filter.

11. (Optional) Upload up to four images in Reference Image.

12. Select a Pose: Original Pose or Random.

13. Select an Aspect Ratio that matches your template frame orientation.

⚠️ Important: The aspect ratio you select must match your template frame orientation. If it doesn't, the AI output will be cropped or stretched.

14. Click Save config to save your settings, or Save & go to Test to move to the Test & Preview tab.

How to Add PersonaFX to a Template

  1. Select a template from the Template Library, or click + Create New Template.

  2. Click AI Filters under your template to assign your PersonaFX filter.

  3. Click Preview to set the template preview image guests see at the booth. (Tip: Use your test image as the preview)

  4. You can attach one or multiple PersonaFX filters to one template.

💡 Tip: Always run a test render in Test & Preview to confirm your prompt, pose, and aspect ratio combination before using it at a live event. Small prompt wording changes can produce noticeably different outputs.

Custom Prompt Filter Comparison

Snappic's Custom Prompt filters are each powered by a different AI model, with different strengths and rendering speeds.

BananaFX prioritizes speed on both versions. PersonaFX prioritizes photorealism, which takes longer to render.

Prompting Tips for PersonaFX

The GPT Image model works best when you write naturally, as if you’re describing your idea to a photographer or creative director. Instead of using long lists of keywords, clearly explain what you want to create, what should change, and what should stay the same.

For the best results:

  • Write in clear, descriptive sentences rather than keyword lists.

  • Start with the overall concept, then describe the subject, environment, clothing, lighting, and style.

  • Be explicit about what should remain unchanged, such as preserving the subject’s facial identity while changing their outfit or surroundings.

  • If you want text in the image, provide the exact wording and where it should appear.

  • Describe the mood or atmosphere you’re aiming for, such as cinematic, editorial, luxurious, or playful.

  • If you want a realistic result, say so (for example, “highly photorealistic” or “professional studio photography”) and mention if you want to avoid illustrations or paintings.

GPT Image excels at understanding natural language, so focus on describing your vision rather than trying to “game” the model with technical prompt tricks.

Best Practices

  • Use well-lit, high-quality guest photos with clean backgrounds. Overexposed images produce poor outputs.

  • Ask guests to face the camera directly with a natural, upright pose. Avoid partially obscured subjects.

  • Write detailed, structured prompts — specific descriptions produce more consistent results. Small wording changes can noticeably affect the output.

  • Use surveys to personalise outputs by inserting guest names, numbers, or preferences directly into the prompt. To set up surveys, go to your event's Event Options and enable Surveys.

  • Always run a test render before your event to confirm your prompt, pose, and aspect ratio combination.

Troubleshooting

Why isn't PersonaFX available on my Virtual Booth event?

Cause: PersonaFX is not supported on Virtual Booth events.

Fix: Use a different booth type that supports AI-FX.

Why can't I attach PersonaFX to my template?

Cause: PersonaFX does not support templates that use multiple frames.

Fix: Use a single-frame template.

Why does my PersonaFX output show a different face, gender, or skin tone than my guest?

Cause: The AI model can change facial features, gender, or skin tone in its output. This is normal and cannot be controlled.

Fix: Set Enhance Face Likeness to Yes for real, photographic images. This does not guarantee an exact match, since some variation is a normal characteristic of the AI model.

Why is my PersonaFX output inconsistent between guests?

Cause: Prompt quality directly affects output quality. Vague or unstructured prompts produce less consistent results.

Fix: Write a detailed, structured prompt, and test it before your event.

Why did a small change to my prompt produce a completely different result?

Cause: PersonaFX output is sensitive to prompt wording, like BananaFX. Small wording changes can produce noticeably different outputs.

Fix: Test each version of your prompt before using it at a live event.

Why does PersonaFX take longer to render than BananaFX?

Cause: PersonaFX uses a different AI model (GPT Image 2) than BananaFX. It typically takes up to 60 seconds to render, compared to about 20–30 seconds for BananaFX.

Fix: This is expected. If render speed matters more than maximum photorealism for your event, use BananaFX instead.

Why did my guest get the original photo instead of the AI-generated one?

Cause: Sharing via AirDrop sends only the original image, not the AI-generated version.

Fix: Share the AI-generated image by email or SMS instead of AirDrop.

Why isn't my guest receiving their AI-generated image?

Cause: AI-FX images are only shared when the session is synced with the Snappic app.

Fix: Make sure the session is synced with the Snappic app before sharing.

Why isn't Enhance Face Likeness improving my output?

Cause: Enhance Face Likeness only works with real, photographic images. It does not work with stylized images.

Fix: Only enable Enhance Face Likeness when your prompts are for real outputs, not stylized images.
