This article will show you how to set up your printer with the Snappic Mac Print Server.

  • Option 1: Setting up a wireless connection (using a wifi network to connect the iPad and Windows device/laptop)

  • Option 2: Setting up a wired connection (wired referring to the iPad being plugged into the Windows device/laptop)

Wireless Printing

Step 1 - Download the Snappic Mac Print Server on your Mac.
You will find the Snappic Mac Print Server on the Resources tab on your account dashboard.

Step 2 - Connect your printer via USB to the Mac. Ensure the printer is powered on and has been set to the default printer.

Step 2.a - The driver must be downloaded when using a Mac.

Step 3 - Now open the Snappic Mac Print Server and configure the printer for Standard and Strip prints - to read more about this, scroll to the section Configuring the Snappic Mac Print Server at the bottom of the article.

Step 4 - Make sure that the iPad and Mac you are using are connected to the same hotspot/wifi connection if you use a wireless setup.

Please note: we do not recommend using the wifi supplied at the venue (Public WiFi) as this connection can have a security setting that blocks the communication between the iPad and print server.

Step 5 - You can now configure the printer on the iPad by opening the event on your iPad and tapping on the "Configure Printer" button.

Step 6 - Next, you will select the "Photo Booth Print Server" option with the word "wireless" underneath if you have connected the iPad and laptop via a wifi connection

Configuring Print Server for Mac

The "Snappic Print Server" allows you to print both 6x4/4x6 and strip at the same event. So you can either configure only one option ( 6x4/4x6 or strips), or you can configure both options depending on your event.

  • Open the "Mac Print Server" app,
For standard 6x4/4x6 print outs: click on the “Configure” button next to “Standard Config:”
For strip print outs: click on the "Configure" button next to "Strip Config:"

  • Now make sure that it says “Photobooth Print Server” underneath the "Printer" and "Presets" drop-downs (for both standard and strip printing):

  • Click on the "Photobooth Print Server" drop-down. Under the "Paper Size" drop-down: For standard 6x4/4x6 print outs: choose the 6x4/4x6 option
For strip print outs: choose the 2x6/4x6x2 option
(You might also need to select your 2x6/4x6x2 under the page handling option and then save).

  • You can adjust the margins on the print server if you need to. This is only needed if you would like to adjust the placement of the printout on the paper in case it is too close to one of the edges.
