Hello all, in this Article, we will go over converting a Windows Photo Booth into a Mac (M-Series SoC*) Photobooth with touchscreen or infrared bars, DSRL and printing. (This article will be done with a Mac M-Series SoC*)

To start, we will need the following.

  • Mirror Booth or Photobooth (previously using a Windows)

  • Any Mac M-Series SoC* (Mac Mini or MacBook)

  • Touch Screen compatible with Mac (as Mac doesn't have native support for touchscreen, there are a couple of solutions that can be used)

We have made a short video on how it works with a regular TV and Infrared bars.

Table Of Contents:

Conversion Steps

  • First, we will replace the Windows PC used for the photo booth with a Mac M-Series SoC*.

  • Next, we will check if the Mirror Booth has a compatible touchscreen or infrared bars.

  • Connecting Everything

    1. Start by connecting the Screen to the Mac and starting the operating system.

    2. Now sign in to our Apple ID, access the app store on the Mac, and download the Snappic app.

    3. Next sign in to the Snappic account and start the event.

      1. Connect the DSLR and the printer

        1. Select Configure the camera and select the camera from the list,

        2. configure printing, and select the print server

Parts to note,

  1. We have added an in-app keyboard and an option to move the Experience buttons. (bottom, middle and top)

  2. Attract screen changes now have two parts, allowing a custom attract screen and the Photobooth screen.
