Snappic allows you to control most DSLR camera settings directly from within the app — no need to constantly adjust your camera manually. You can fine-tune exposure, focus, white balance, and more, all while keeping your preferred setup saved for future sessions.

Important Notes
Snappic saves your in-app camera settings, so each event uses your preferred setup automatically.
Not all camera models support every setting; some may require Manual (M) mode to adjust key values.
The Current column in the app reflects the live camera value — this may differ from your selected in-app settings depending on whether you’re previewing or capturing.
DSLR Camera Settings View
The DSLR Settings view includes five tabs that organize all camera controls.
Each tab manages different categories of settings, allowing for total customization of your capture workflow.
When adjusting settings, you’ll see multiple columns:
Current: The live value currently applied to your camera.
Preview: Values used during live preview.
Capture: Values used when taking a photo.
Video: Values used when recording video.
Tip: If your preview appears too dark (for example, when using flash), deselect “Use Capture Settings for Live Preview.” This allows you to brighten the preview separately without affecting capture settings.
General Settings
Live Preview Rotation
Rotate the preview by 90° clockwise or counterclockwise to match your display orientation.
Mirror Live Preview
Mirror the live preview horizontally.
Enable: When guests can see themselves on screen.
Disable: When roaming or operating the camera remotely.
Image Settings
These settings determine how your final image looks. The three key controls are ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed.
ISO
Controls image brightness.
Higher ISO = Brighter image, but increased noise or grain.
Lower ISO = Cleaner image, but darker in low light.
Aperture (f-stop)
Controls how much light enters the camera.
Lower f-number (e.g., f/1.8) = Wider aperture, brighter image, shallow depth of field (blurred background).
Higher f-number (e.g., f/8) = Smaller aperture, darker image, deeper focus.
Shutter Speed
Determines how long the sensor is exposed to light.
Slower shutter (1/10s) = Brighter image, more motion blur.
Faster shutter (1/200s) = Darker image, crisp motion.
Exposure Compensation
Fine-tunes brightness while in Auto mode.
White Balance
Adjusts color temperature — warmer for yellow/orange tones, cooler for blue tones.
Autofocus Options
Auto Focus During Countdown: Focuses once when countdown starts.
Auto Focus During Capture: Focuses right before the photo is taken.
Use Capture Settings for Live Preview: Toggles whether preview uses capture values.
Config Settings
Auto Exposure Mode
Reflects the camera’s current exposure mode (Manual, Auto, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, etc.).
Most cameras require changing this directly on the camera’s mode dial.
Focus Mode
Determines how the camera focuses (Manual, AF-S, AF-C, etc.). Usually set on the camera body or lens.
AF System
Selects how autofocus behaves (Face Detection, Quick Focus, FlexiZone Single). Refer to your camera manual for options.
Image Quality, Noise Reduction, Color Tone
These control in-camera image quality and color profile — but many cameras do not allow remote adjustment of these through the app.
Info Settings
These fields display live data from your camera:
Power Source: Battery or AC adapter
Battery Level: Current charge percentage
Shots Available: Estimated remaining captures based on memory card space
Note: These settings are informational only — they cannot be changed in the app.
Compatibility Options
Reset Camera Settings to Default
Restores all app-side settings to their defaults. This won’t change your physical camera settings.
Keep Live Preview Running
Keeps the preview feed active to minimize startup delays.
⚠️ Can increase battery usage and heat in warm environments.
Capture Delay After Focus
Adds a brief delay after focusing before capture. Increase this if your camera often refuses to capture due to focus lag.
Capture Timeout
Sets how long the app waits for a photo to capture before timing out.
Increase this for long exposure or light painting shots.
Recording Speed Multiplier
Corrects playback speed for cameras that auto-slow recordings (e.g., Canon slow-motion clips).
Example: A 5-second 120fps clip that saves as 20 seconds at 30fps → set multiplier to 4x.
Video Rotation
Corrects orientation mismatches between live preview and saved recordings (e.g., rotating 90° for portrait).
Pro Tips
Use Manual Mode (M) on your camera for full control.
Keep ISO as low as possible for clear, noise-free images.
If the app won’t adjust a setting, check that your camera supports remote control for that parameter.
Adjust Capture Timeout for creative effects like long exposure or light painting.
