How to Set Up and Use the Uploader/Watch-folder App

Upload media from third-party software to Snappic events. Streamline sharing, branding, and gallery delivery in minutes!

The Snappic Uploader App lets you upload media from external photo booth sessions directly into your Snappic event gallery (or microsite). Perfect for Windows photo booth software, Photo Array, 360 booth software, and more!

With this tool, you can combine your favourite capture setup with Snappic's advanced features, including:

  • Microsite delivery

  • AI Sharing & Analytics

  • Custom branding options

Important Notes

  • Only features enabled in your event will appear in the Uploader App. Ensure that Photo, GIF, and Video features are enabled in your event settings before setup.

  • If Video is not enabled in your event, the Video folder type will not be available in the app.

  • VideoFX is only available for Enterprise events. It will not function for Pro events.

  • Always verify that your selected folder corresponds with the correct media type.


Installing the Uploader App

  1. Log in to your Snappic dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the Resources tab.

  3. Download and install the Photo Booth Uploader App for Mac or Windows, respectively.


Logging into the App

  • Open the installed app.

  • Use your Snappic dashboard login credentials to sign in.


Selecting a Live Event

  • After login, the app will show your live events only.

  • Select the relevant event you want to upload content to.


Setting Up a Watch Folder

  • Click Add New Folder.

  • Click Browse and select a local or Dropbox folder you want the app to monitor. Choose the folder type: Photo, GIF, Burst, or Video. Enable Include Sub-folder if applicable.

  • When ready, select the Done button to continue.

Example: Select a "Video" subfolder inside your desktop "Watch Folder."


Start Uploading

  • Click the Start button to begin uploading media from your selected folder.

  • The app will watch that folder and automatically upload new content. Failed uploads can be re-queued using the button in the top right corner.

Video Credit Usage:

Each 20MB = 1 credit

  • <20MB = 1 Credit

  • <40MB = 2 Credits

  • <60MB = 3 Credits

  • <80MB = 4 Credits


Uploader App Credits & Usage

The app uses Virtual/Uploader Credits, especially for video uploads.

How to Purchase Credits:

  1. Go to the Account tab on your Snappic dashboard.

  2. Select Uploader Credits.

  3. Choose the amount and confirm your purchase.
