This guide outlines how to add a green screen background to your VideoFX using the "Build A Custom Effect" feature. Please follow these five steps to make sure the effect and prepare your setup for proper testing.

Important Notes

  • A physical green screen setup is required to test this feature.

  • The green screen background will not appear in the live preview.

  • It will only be visible in the final rendered video.

  • Supported background formats:

    • .png, .apng, .jpeg, .jpg, .mp4

    • Maximum file size: 15 MiB


How to Add the Green Screen to VideoFX

Step 1: Open the Timeline

You can just navigate to the Timeline section in the Snappic dashboard.

Step 2: Build a Custom Effect

Click Build A Custom Effect to begin creating a new VideoFX effect.

Step 3: Select Green screen

Choose Green screen from the available effect options.

Step 4: Configure Green screen Settings

  • Use the toggle to select the background color that matches your physical green screen.

  • Upload your custom background file.

Step 5: Save and Test

  • Click Save to apply your changes.

  • Use a physical green screen setup to test the final output.
