Before You Start
Microsites are available on Business, Premium and Scale subscriptions. For Starter subscriptions, you will need to purchase a Microsite add-on at $19 per event.
The original Microsite builder will be selected as default. To change to the new Microsite builder, select the option in the top right corner.
Save your work frequently.

How the Microsite Works
A Microsite is the branded, guest-facing website that opens when guests follow a gallery link.
It can include a home page, additional custom pages, a password gate, and a full-screen photo viewer, all styled to match your brand.
You can build and customize your Microsite in the new updated builder, or the original legacy builder. The new Microsite builder uses a block-based layout system. Blocks are sections of content — heroes, galleries, buttons, navigation bars, and more — that you drag onto a canvas and style using a side panel. No code is required.
The new Email Builder uses the same block-based approach and lets you create branded follow-up emails that match your microsite. See Setting Up Email Builder for a full guide.
⚠️ Important: If you are currently using the original Microsite builder, your existing setup is unaffected. The new Microsite builder is separate and runs independently.
How to Open the New Microsite Builder
In the Microsites section under Sharing on your event dashboard, you will see a button on the top right corner that says "Use Microsite 2.0". Click here to access the new Microsite builder. If you would like to use the original Microsite builder, click here to find out how.
If you would like to remain on the original Microsite builder page, you can click the "Use Legacy" button on the top right to take you back.
On the new Microsite builder page, click Choose Template. Here, you can choose a System Template as a base. After creating and saving your own templates, they will appear under My Templates.
Select your System Template, and click Use Template.
Navigating the New Microsite Builder
The new Microsite builder has four main areas:
Area | What it does |
Top bar
| Page name, brand kit selector, Save / Preview controls, device icons for canvas width, zoom, undo/redo, and Close. |
Left — Components | The library of blocks you can drag onto the page (Hero, Gallery, Text, Button, Nav Bar, and more). |
Centre — Canvas | The page you are editing. This is what visitors will roughly see. |
Right — Properties | Settings for whatever is selected. Click a block to see its settings, or click empty canvas space to see page-level background and padding settings. |
The Properties panel has three tabs for most blocks:
Content — text, images, links, event ID, and variant selection.
Style — colours, fonts, borders, and shadows.
Layout — spacing, alignment, and size.
Setting up Brand Kits
What is a Brand Kit?
A brand kit stores your logo, favicon, colour palette, fonts (including Google Fonts), and brand images. When a kit is loaded, colour pickers across the builder show your palette as quick-select chips, and font fields default to your chosen typefaces. This prevents rebuilding the same brand setup for every event.
Creating a Brand Kit
In the top bar, click Brand Kit.
Select Edit and Create New Brand Kit. Name your brand kit, click Confirm.
You can now upload a Favicon, Logo, Colors, Fonts and Images. Click Apply Brand Kit when complete.
Editing the brand kit has the following effects:
Changing the logo will update any logo instances you have in the builder, across all pages.
Changing the color palette will update the colors used within the template
Changing the default font will update any text where that default is used
⚠️ Important: Any changes you make to the brand kit inside the builder affect that template only.
How to Load an Existing Brand Kit
In the top bar, click Brand Kit.
Click Load Brand Kit.
Select the kit from your library.
💡 Tip: Only one brand kit is active at a time. If you switch kits mid-build, update any blocks that need to match the new kit — switching kits does not restyle all blocks automatically.
How to Set Up Microsite Pages
The new Microsite builder allows you to create and edit different pages. The main Gallery page is where guests land and browse photos. The builder also supports other dedicated page types:
Page type | Purpose |
Gallery page | The home page guests see when they open the link. The only page where you can add a Gallery block and Nav Bar. |
Image page | Full-screen viewer that opens when a guest taps a photo or video. You can style the background and add supporting text blocks. |
QR page | Used for QR-based experiences. The system manages its URL |
Password page | Shown before the main gallery when password protection is on. Guests enter the password here before reaching the gallery. |
Custom pages | Additional pages you create for any other content — storytelling, sponsor pages, commercial flows, etc. |
🚫 Limitation: The main Gallery page, Image page, QR page, and Password page are reserved. You cannot rename, duplicate, or delete them. Only custom pages can be managed in Manage Pages.
How to Switch Pages
Click the page name in the top bar.
Select the page you want to edit from the list.
How to Add a Custom Page
Open the page menu by clicking the page name in the top bar.
Select Add Page.
Type a name and save. The page gets its own URL based on the name you enter.
How to Set the Default Page
The default page is the first screen guests see when they open the gallery link.
Open the page menu.
Find the page you want to set as default and enable the toggle on the right.
💡 Tip: Only one page should be set as default. Reserved pages that the system controls automatically show 'Automatic' instead of a toggle — you do not need to set these.
Adding and Arranging Microsite Builder Blocks
How to Add a Block
Find the block in the Components panel on the left.
Drag it onto the canvas.
Click the block to open its settings in the Properties panel on the right.
Use the Content, Style, and Layout tabs to configure the block.
⚠️ Important: If a block appears greyed out in Components, it either does not belong on the current page type, or you have already placed the one copy allowed on that page. Each page can have only one Gallery block, one Nav Bar, one Hero, one Footer, one Password Input, one Submit button, and one FaceMatch block.
How to Move a Block
Select the block and use the move up / move down controls on the block toolbar. Blocks are ordered top-to-bottom on the page.
How to Delete a Block
Select the block, then click Delete (the trash icon) on the block toolbar.
Using Variants
Many blocks offer variants — preset starting layouts you can refine. Variants are the fastest way to get a polished structure without building from scratch.
Block | Available variants |
Hero | Standard, full-screen, split layout, overlay, logo-first, and more (8 styles total) |
Gallery | Grid, Masonry, Carousel, Featured (see gallery section below for details) |
Button | Primary, secondary, text-only, pill |
Image | Standard, rounded |
Nav Bar | Tabs, pills, underline, simple |
Share row | Colour, monochrome, square, round |
To apply a variant, select the block, go to the Content tab in Properties, and choose from the variant options. Refine colours and spacing in the Style and Layout tabs afterward.
Setting Up the Gallery Block
The gallery block displays your event photos and media. It is only available on the main Gallery page.
Gallery Layout Options
Layout | Best for |
Grid | A clean, even photo wall with consistent thumbnail sizing. Suits events where every shot deserves equal weight. |
Masonry | A Pinterest-style waterfall that handles mixed proportions naturally. Suits events with varied content. |
Featured | A large main image with a strip of smaller thumbnails. Ideal when a hero moment matters and you still want quick access to the rest. |
Carousel | A horizontally scrolling strip. Good when you want guests to swipe through highlights rather than scan a full grid. |
How to Configure the Gallery Block
Click the Gallery block on the canvas.
Choose your layout or select a variant.
Set your pagination preference: Paging (numbered pages) or Infinite loading (more items load as guests scroll). Set how many items load at a time.
Use the Style and Layout tabs to adjust spacing, columns, aspect ratio, and thumbnail quality.
⚠️ Important: Always test your gallery using Preview and check mobile-size presets before publishing.
Setting Up the Navigation Bar
The Nav Bar block is only available on the main Gallery page. Use it to let guests switch between media types — for example Photos, GIFs, Videos, and AI content — depending on what your event includes.
After adding the Nav Bar, use the Content tab to configure which filters and actions appear, and the Style tab to set colours and choose a variant (tabs, pills, underline, or simple).
Setting Up Password Protection
Password protection routes guests through a branded gate page before they can access the main gallery. It is suited to private events, premium clients, or any situation where the gallery should not be accessible via an open link.
⚠️ Important: The password itself is set in your gallery or template settings in Snappic — not inside the Password Input block. The block controls how the gate page looks, not what the password is.
Turn on password protection and set the password in your gallery or template settings in the Snappic Dashboard.
Switch to the Password page in the page menu.
Add a Password Input block and a Submit button from Components.
Style both blocks to match your brand using the Style and Layout tabs.
Click Save & Close. The builder checks that both blocks are present on the Password page when password protection is enabled.
Guests enter the password once, then reach the main gallery and any other pages in the microsite.
Previewing Your Microsite
The builder has two ways to check your layout before publishing:
Control | What it does |
Editing device icons (top bar) | Resizes the canvas so you can judge layout while still editing. This is not a full preview — it only changes how the canvas appears on your screen. |
Preview menu | Opens a live-rendered preview of the microsite. Choose Full screen responsive or a named device (specific phone, tablet, and desktop sizes). |
💡 Tip: Preview may show a notice that interaction is limited — gallery taps and links may not behave exactly like the live site. Always check the published link for final confirmation on critical paths.
Saving and Publishing Your Microsite
Use Save to write your changes to Snappic so you can continue editing later. Save is only active when there are unsaved changes.
Use Save & Close when you are ready to publish. The builder runs a set of checks before closing:
Every page must have at least one block.
The Password page must include both a Password Input block and a Submit button when password protection is enabled.
At least one Gallery block must exist somewhere in the microsite.
If a check fails, a dialog lists the issues. Fix each item and try Save & Close again.
How to Use the Original (Legacy) Microsite Builder
Log in to your Snappic Dashboard.
Navigate to the Event Options tab.
Toggle on the Microsite feature.
Click Edit Microsite to open the setup panel.
Once enabled, you can edit the following key elements:
Meta Title: Customize the browser tab title to match your event.
Password Protection: Add a password to restrict access (optional).
Hide Gallery Button or Still Photos: Choose what elements guests can view.
Sharing Options: Enable/disable social media sharing and customize share messages.
Slideshow Background: Change the visual background for the gallery slideshow.
Customization Options
Snappic’s Microsite templates are flexible and easy to edit.
You can:
Choose from pre-built design templates.
Customize elements within the template marked by green-dotted borders.
Edit text, images, and video links directly by clicking on them.
Save all changes to preview your custom design.
Every Microsite can be branded to match your client’s identity, ensuring a consistent and professional presentation.
Hiding the Gallery Button
If you prefer a simplified look, you can hide the Gallery Button.
To do this:
Go to the Microsite section on your event dashboard.
Under the Hide options, tick the Gallery Button checkbox.
Save your settings — the gallery button will no longer appear on your Microsite.
This is ideal for events where you want guests to focus on their individual sessions rather than the full gallery.
Troubleshooting
Why is a block greyed out in Components?
A greyed-out block means one of two things: the block is not available on the current page type (for example, Gallery and Nav Bar are only available on the main Gallery page), or you have already placed the maximum allowed copies of that block on the page. Each page allows only one of: Gallery, Nav Bar, Hero, Footer, Password Input, Submit, and FaceMatch.
Why does my Nav Bar not show the media types I expect?
The Nav Bar only exposes media types that the event supports. If an event has no GIF-style content, for example, that tab will not appear. Check your event settings in the Snappic Dashboard to confirm which media types are enabled.
Why does Save & Close fail the password page check?
Both a Password Input block and a Submit button must be present on the Password page when password protection is enabled. Switch to the Password page and confirm both blocks are added.
Why does my brand kit not update blocks I already placed?
Loading or switching a brand kit does not automatically restyle blocks you have already added to the canvas. After loading a new kit, update any blocks that need to match the new palette or fonts manually using the Style tab.
Why does the live site look different from the preview?
Preview shows the real layout but has limited interaction — gallery taps and links may not behave exactly like the live published site. Use Save & Close to publish, then open the live gallery link to do a final check on critical paths.
Why has my page frozen or stopped responding?
Click Save immediately if you have unsaved work, then reload the page and reopen the template. If the builder was mid-action when it froze, your last saved version will be available.
