With Snappic, printing GIFs is easy. Below are some steps on how to achieve GIF printing. In this Tutorial, I will use a premade template.

Table of Contents:

How to enable GIF printing

Step 1: Go to your event on your dashboard, find the "features" section, and click edit.

Step 2: Please enable STILL and GIF/Burst. Once GIF/Burst is selected, a pop-up will appear and take you to the GIF/Burst setup page.

Step 3: Once on the setup page, you can choose the templates you want for your digital output or upload your own. (NOTE: This is not the print template. The print template will be discussed later).

Step 4: Ensure that "Disable GIF printing" is NOT enabled and save your changes.

Step 5: Next, the Burst section will pop up, and you will need to ensure that "Disable GIF printing" is NOT enabled and save your changes.

Step 6: Go to the 'Photo Template" section on your event to add your "print frames'. The GIF printing will use the Photo templates in this section so that you can choose from our library, or you can create your own templates to print out unique styles using the "create template" option.

Once you have chosen your templates, you can save the changes!

How to print GIFs from the App

Once you have set up your event, you must configure your Snappic printing session via AirPrint or the Snappic print server for Mac and Windows.

Step 1: Open your app and go to your event to connect the printer to the app. You can connect the printer under the "configure printer" section. Once done, you can start the booth!

Step 2: When you start your event, and you choose GIF or Burst then you will see the following process:

The first set of photo Templates is for the GIF/Burst Frame. In this section, you will notice only 'One frame' templates, as GIF/Burst only uses one frame.

You will now see the "Pick Your Print Frame" option, where you can select the print frame on which you would like the GIF/Burst printed.

Please note:

If your GIF is set to capture 4 frames and your print template only has 3 frames, then the session will continue to capture 4 frames and automatically add 3 images to the print frame. You will notice in the image below that it automatically cut out image 3 when I wanted to print the GIF.

How do you get a digital copy of your print?

The print frame won't save to the gallery, but you can get a digital copy from the microsite. Users will receive a link to the microsite when they share the image. On the microsite, the GIF will appear under "GIF," and the digital print will be under "Photo."

PLEASE NOTE: This will only show if the image was printed at the event. If no printing is done, it will not appear.
If you want to collect all of the digital versions of the prints, then you will need to enable auto print.
