Important Notes
Device Settings Required: Guests must manually go to their device settings and change their AirDrop visibility to “Everyone” to send files to others not in their contacts.
10-Minute Timeout: As of iOS 16.2, Apple limits the “Everyone” setting to only 10 minutes. After this time, it automatically reverts back to “Contacts Only.”
No App-Level Customization: iOS does not allow apps to restrict the sharing options shown to users. When a guest shares from the Snappic app, they’ll see a full iOS sharing sheet with multiple options—including AirDrop and other supported sharing methods.
No Analytics Captured via AirDrop: If a guest chooses to share via AirDrop, Snappic cannot track or collect any analytics or data for that session due to Apple’s privacy restrictions.
How to Enable AirDrop
To make AirDrop available as a sharing option for guests:
Open your Snappic Dashboard.
Navigate to your specific event.
Go to the “Event Options” section.
Toggle on the “AirDrop” option.
Once enabled, guests will see AirDrop as a sharing method on the sharing screen.
How Guests Use AirDrop
After completing their session—whether it's a photo, boomerang, or video—guests can:
Tap the share button on the iPad or iPhone.
View the iOS sharing sheet.
Select AirDrop to send their media to a nearby Apple device.
Because this is a native iOS sheet, guests will also see other supported sharing methods.
