How to Enable Custom Text Via Surveys
Enable the Survey Feature under Event Options.
Under Surveys, set the Display Location to "On Experience Selection" to ensure that the text users fill in will be used on the photo template. Click "Save Changes".
Next, click the "Show" button next to the Survey Builder option.
Once the Survey Builder opens up, you can set up your main section title.
Then, drag the required survey information box to the iPad on the right in the builder.
You can add multiple fields under your main section title. This can range from text inputs to information such as email addresses, ratings, and dropdowns. You can also choose whether the field is required, or guests can skip the section.
How to Configure the Custom Text Appearance
Go to the Photo Booth Template Design section. After setting up your template, click on Edit.
Next, you will click on "Survey Fields" and then the + icon next to the survey response you wish to add to the template. You can also add survey responses to existing text boxes.
Navigating the Custom Text Editor Tool
Once the survey input appears on the template, click on it to bring up several editing options.
If the properties menu on the right hand side isn't open, click the button at the top right to open it. You can use the properties tab to make the following changes for survey field entries.
Arrange the layer order, such as moving the selected text box to the very front or back entirely or sending it forward or backward by one layer.
Make changes to your frame properties for the text, such as the position, the size (width and height), the rotation, and whether you want the frame to mirror vertically or horizontally.
Adjust your text properties, such as entering Max Line Count for the selected text box and the alignment of the text within the frame (horizontal and vertical).
If a survey field is highlighted in the text box, you can make changes to the survey properties, such as adding a Missing Text Value and selecting whether you want a Text Case Filter, such as lower case, upper case, title case, or sentence case.
You can also use the properties menu on the right to make the following changes to your overlay:
Arrange the layer for your overlay, such as bringing it to the front or back or changing the blend mode of your overlay.
Make changes to your frame properties, such as the size (X and Y positions), the size (width and height), the rotation, and whether you want the frame to mirror vertically or horizontally.
Choose your Stretch Type for the image. You can choose between stretch, fill or fit.
Once done, you will also be able to make changes to the survey text itself, including:
Place the text where you need it to appear in the final output
Delete the selected text section
Rotate the text to appear at a different angle
Select your preferred text font from our available list.
Adjust the text to be bigger or smaller.
Select your preferred text color using Hex, RGB, or HSV
Select your preferred text stroke color using Hex, RGB or HSV as well as adjust the width of your text stroke. If you don't want a text stroke, leave the stroke width on 0.
Add boldness to the text if needed.
Add italics to the text if needed.
Underline the text if needed.
Add a strikethrough to the text if needed.
Add a text shadow to your selected survey text. You can select your preferred color for the text shadow (using Hex, RGB, or HSV), adjust the X and Y offset, and add the amount of blur radius to the shadow.
The User Experience at the Booth
When the guest selects the experience at the booth, a pop up survey will appear. They can fill in the relevant fields.
Please note, only the survey fields that you have added to the template will be shown.
Next, the guest will choose a photo template.
Then, they capture their image at the booth.
They will then see the final output on screen and be able to share the image with themselves.
