Show Captured Media Previews

Show Captured Media Previews lets you instantly view your recent photos directly on the camera screen. It provides operators and guests with a live mini-gallery of their latest captures, allowing them to review, share, or retake individual photos more quickly without leaving the camera interface.

This feature is available in both Photo Booth Mode and Roaming Photography Mode, and is especially useful for roaming photographers who want to stay mobile while keeping guests engaged.

Important Notes

➡️ Cross-Mode Compatibility – Works in both Photo Booth Mode and Roaming Photography Mode.

➡️ Required for Retakes – This feature must be enabled if you want to retake individual Photos within a multi-template session.

➡️ Display Location – The preview bar appears at the bottom of the capture screen.

➡️ Optional Visibility – The Gallery bar/digital props bar can be minimized at any time for a cleaner interface when you retake the final image. Just double-click the arrow button

Things To Note

  • Single-Frame Templates – The preview bar does not appear for templates with only one photo. You can still click "retake" when it's at the sharing screen

  • Burst Templates – It doesn't work because a burst is intended to be a sequence. Recapturing a single image would disrupt that sequence.

  • Screen Space – On smaller devices such as iPhones, the preview bar may cover part of the live camera view.

  • UI Variations – Button placement and layout may differ slightly between iPad and iPhone versions.

What is Show Captured Media Previews

Show Captured Media Previews adds a small, round thumbnail bar to the camera screen, displaying your most recent captures in real-time.

From this bar, you can:

✅ Drag and drop the images to rearrange them in a different order. If you have Excess Media Capture enabled, you can also drag and drop the desired image on the 'Show Capture Media Preview' bar to organize them.

✅ Delete or retake a photo directly from the interface.

This provides an immediate way to manage content without interrupting your capture flow.

How it works

  1. When enabled, a white round preview bar appears below the capture screen during an active session.

  1. After each capture, a thumbnail automatically appears in the bar, displaying the captured images.

  1. Tap "next" for the final approval (if enabled) to pop up and see if you are happy with the results

  2. If you want to retake one frame, click on retake and you can delete the image you dont like and retake it again.

  3. Once the guest is happy, they can share their image.

Setting up in Snappic (step-by-step)

  1. Open your event in the Snappic Dashboard.

  2. Go to Event Options → Roaming → Roaming Mode Settings → Enable Show Captured Media Previews.

  1. Save your changes and sync your event.

  2. Open the Snappic app on your iPad or iPhone.

  3. Start capturing. You’ll now see the round preview bar at the bottom of the screen.

  4. An Approval image (if enabled) will pop up, allowing the guest to choose to retake or approve

  1. If the guest wants to retake one frame, they need to click on retake

  2. They can delete the frame/s they want to redo and capture them again.
