Here are the steps to enable the Background Removal feature for your next event!
We have 3 great options to assist you in your event, starting with the traditional green screen and now including the AI offline background removal or the Online background removal versions of this powerful feature!
All the fun of the traditional green screen without the need for a physical green backdrop)
Please note:
This feature is only available from app version 1.18. If you use Online background removal, please make sure you have BG removal credits and a solid/reliable internet connection.
If you do not wish to use credits, we also have an Offline AI Background removal, which is available from app version 1.31
Enable Green Screen
First, enable the "Green screen" option, which can be found under your event's "Features" tab.
This will then lead you to the green screen setup page.
Edit your Green Screen Settings
Under the "Green screen" section, you will now be able to choose between 1 of the 3 background removal options, namely: Chroma Key, Offline, and Online.
Chroma Key:
This option requires a physical green screen backdrop.
Offline Background Removal:
It has a live preview.
There is no need for a physical backdrop, credits, or Internet!!
You will need good lighting and contrast between the background and subject.
Online Background Removal (Requires an active Internet connection)
It uses 1 credit per background removed.
Quality is better than offline BG removal.

Online Background Removal
For purposes of this article, you can now select "Online (Requires an active internet connection) from the dropdown next to "BG Removal Type." It is also available for Virtual booth events.
Once you select AI, then you will see another three settings pop-up.
Allow Retry on Failure: Enabling this setting will allow your guests to retry their BG removal if it fails (BG removal could fail if there are connection issues).
Allow Skipping Process on Failure: Enabling this setting will allow your guests to skip the BG removal process if it fails.
AI Upload Requires Approval: Enabling this setting will allow the guest to approve their image before proceeding.
Once you are happy with your settings, upload your green screen background images/animations and click "Save changes."
Limiting which templates use Backgrounds
If you do not want to use BG removal on some templates, you can do this by going to the specific template, clicking on the "Green Screen" button, and then ticking "Deselect all or uncheck a specific background."
*(Burst Templates are disabled by default when using Online BG Removal)
Top Up BG Removal Credits
Now that you have set up the green screen section, you can proceed to the "Accounts" tab and purchase "BG Removal Credits."
Each background removal costs 1 credit, so if you have a 1 photo template, it will cost 1 BG removal credit, and if you have a 3 photo GIF, it will cost 3 BG removal credits.
