How to use the Overlay Library:

1. Start by accessing the event VideoFX template you want to edit. You can access them from the VideoFX template Library or your template.

2. When you select the template, go to the Timeline tab

3. Select your first app-recorded video and then click the Build a Custom Effect button

4. Now, click Add Effect and select the Overlay Library.

5. As this is the first app-recorded video, you don't need to adjust the playback range, which is already set to 0 to start with.

6. Now go to the second app-recorded video and add the Overlay library effect again, this time you will need to adjust the start of the playback range to start where the first app-recorded video ends (in this case, it is 1.5sec see the image below)

7. Now repeat the process throughout the timeline by adding (+) the numbers of where the next overlay will need to start. The diagram below should help you understand how it works.

  • The first app recording starts from the 0-sec mark, which is the beginning of the effect.

  • The second app recording effect will start where the first app recording ends. Since the first app recording is 1.5 seconds long, only the second app recording effect needs to be adjusted to play from the end of the first one, so the second one starts from the 1.5-sec mark.

  • Then, we have the third app recording. We must calculate the first and second app recordings to offset the effect (1.5 + 2 = 3.5). The third app recording effect needs to start at the 3.5-sec mark.

  • The next one will be the fourth app recording, which is 4.8 seconds long, so our new calculation will be (1.5 + 2 + 4.8 = 8.3), which means that the fourth app recording effect will start from the 8.3-sec mark.

  • The last one, the fifth app recording, starts once the fourth one ends, and we have to complete the calculation from the first to fourth app recording (1.5 + 2 + 4.8 + 1.12 = 9.4). The 9.4-sec mark offsets the fifth app recording effect.

This is only done to explain how to adjust the correct lengths. So the effects don't have missing or skipped frames.
