Our app lets you connect to a GoPro camera using a wired or wireless connection. A wired connection is highly recommended for improved stability, faster transfer speeds, and easier Internet access.

GoPro cameras require app version 1.27.0 or greater and iOS 13.0 or greater.

The app supports GoPro cameras from the Hero 9 model and newer, including the Hero 10 and Hero 11. However, we highly recommend not using the Hero 9 since it only supports wireless connections and will not work with a wired connection. The Hero 10, Hero 11, and newer models support both wired and wireless connections. (Older GoPro models like the GoPro 7 or 8 are not compatible with Snappic.)

You can follow these steps to connect the Snappic app to a GoPro camera.

1. Get the GoPro Ready for a wireless or wired Connection

If you haven't previously paired your device with the GoPro, you'll need to prepare the GoPro to accept connections by putting it into pairing mode. Additionally, if you have already paired your device with the GoPro but are experiencing connection errors, it may be helpful to repeat this process.

Each GoPro model has a slightly different process to enable this mode. Refer to this article for details on your specific model.

2. Connect the GoPro to Your Device over USB if Using a Wired Connection

  • If you wish to connect wirelessly, you can skip this step and jump straight to step 3 where you will choose which GoPro Camera you want the App to Use.

  • To use a wired connection, you may need an adapter for your iOS device, depending on which device you are using. Refer to this article for details about which adapter (if any) is needed, as well as how to keep your iOS device charged when using a wired connection.

  • If you are using an adapter, you can just connect the adapter to your iOS device and then connect an appropriate cable to the adapter and the other end to your GoPro.

  • If you are not using an adapter, connect a USB-C cable to both your iOS device and GoPro.

3. Choose which GoPro Camera you want the App to Use

  • In the app, select an event, and then tap Configure Camera > Search for GoPro Camera.

  • This will show a page which will reveal all nearby GoPro cameras. Make sure your camera is powered on and nearby. Bluetooth is required when using a wired or a wireless connection, so ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your iOS device.

  • Select a GoPro camera to connect to it. When using a wired connection, it may take a few moments for the app to detect the wired connection. Make sure the Wired Connection symbol (highlighted in red below) is showing next to the GoPro before selecting it.

PLEASE DO NOTE - LiveView is not currently supported by GoPro.
