Important Notes

  • Make sure your Snappic app is on version 1.27.0 or higher.

  • Your iOS device must be on iOS 13.0 or higher.

  • Always keep your GoPro firmware updated for full compatibility.

  • LiveView is not currently supported by GoPro in Snappic.

General Connection Issues

If your GoPro isn’t appearing in the Snappic app, check the following:

1. Update your software

  • Snappic app → version 1.27.0+

  • iOS → 13.0+

  • GoPro → latest firmware

2. Close the GoPro Quik app

The GoPro Quik app can block Snappic from connecting to the camera. Make sure it’s fully closed before launching Snappic.

3. Disconnect other devices

Ensure no other phones, tablets, or computers are paired to the GoPro.

4. Enable GoPro pairing mode

You only need to pair once, but if you’re having trouble, re-enable pairing mode before trying again. This article has more details.

5. Check Bluetooth and permissions

  • Bluetooth must be enabled on the iOS device.

  • Go to Settings → Snappic → Bluetooth and ensure permissions are granted.

  • Also enable Settings → Snappic → Local Network access.

6. Disable AirPlay Mirroring

AirPlay mirroring can interfere with GoPro connections. Turn it off before pairing, then re-enable it once connected.

7. Restart devices

  • Restart both the GoPro and iOS device.

  • Remove and re-insert the GoPro battery before restarting.

8. Reset network connections (if needed)

As a last resort, reset the network connections on both your iOS device and GoPro.

Wired Connection Issues

If your GoPro isn’t recognized when using a cable:

  1. Check your adapter — make sure it’s officially supported for your iPad or iPhone. This article has more details.

  2. Verify your cable type — some cables are charge-only and can’t transfer data. Ensure your cable supports data transfer.

  3. Try another cable — swap it out to eliminate faulty wiring.

💡 A direct USB-C to USB-C connection offers the best reliability and speed.

Wireless Connection Issues

Although wireless connections are supported, Snappic strongly recommends using a wired setup for maximum performance and reliability.

If you must use a wireless connection:

  • Keep your iOS device close to the GoPro.

  • Avoid interference from other Wi-Fi devices.

  • Always have a wired cable available as a backup.

⚠️ Wireless connections are typically slower and more prone to dropouts, especially during high-bitrate video capture.

Additional Tips

  • Always test your connection before the event begins.

  • Keep your GoPro battery charged or use external power for longer sessions.

  • If connection issues persist, try connecting your GoPro to another iOS device to isolate the issue.
