With Snappic’s latest app update (Version 1.33), you can save and access captured media files locally on your iOS device through the Files app. This includes the final edited output version and the original individual photos or videos used to create it.
Here’s how this new feature works and what you need to know to get started.

The media files can be accessed using the Files app. To prevent your device from running out of disk space during an event, Snappic automatically deletes event files 7 days after the event ends. Please copy any files you'd like to keep to a safe location before they are deleted.
Some media files, such as the final output, are always saved and accessible in the Files app.
Other files are optionally saved. If you want to access the individual photos and videos for the media files, you must enable this option before the event starts.
The final output for all sessions will always be uploaded to our servers and can be downloaded from your event dashboard "Download Captured Files". If you want individual photos to be uploaded and accessible from the online dashboard, you must enable the option to "Upload Raw/Individual Files" for the photo templates that require this. Individual videos can't be uploaded to our server and are only accessible on the iOS device (but only if the option was enabled before starting the event).
This feature is not supported on Mac devices with M processors.
"Save and Access Files Locally" differs from the "Upload Raw/Individual Files" option, as they are separate features.
How to Choose Which Files You Can Save and Access Locally
To choose which media files are saved locally on your device, follow these steps:
Open your event on the Snappic backend and scroll to the Event Options section. Click Edit in the top right corner.
Then click on the Advanced button in the top right corner.
You can scroll to the bottom of the Advanced Settings tab to find the Save Files Locally on Device option. There are three options here to choose which optional files you want to save and access:
Processed Photos
These are all the individual photos making up the final output. These individual photos are cropped to the correct size in the photo frame, and will have digital props, filters, and a green screen (if enabled) applied to them.
Unprocessed Photos
These are also the individual photos making up the final output, but these photos are kept in the resolution they are captured by the camera (un-cropped), with no digital props, filters, or greenscreen applied.
Videos
These are all the individual video recordings used in the final output video. These RAW Recordings videos won't have any effects or overlays. These video files are quite large, as they have minimal video compression (high quality), and are saved in the full frame rate and resolution they are recorded in by the app.
Here, you can select which media files you want the app to save locally on the iOS device you use at the event. Media files will be saved in the Files app of your device in a folder labelled "Snappic". While Snappic will continue to save the final outputs (photos and videos) to its servers, enabling the Save Sessions Locally option will store a copy on your device.
However, these locally saved sessions won’t sync to Snappic’s servers. You’ll need to manually transfer them to another location within 7 days, as they will be automatically deleted after this period and cannot be recovered.
How to Enable Local File Access and Find Captured Media on the iOS Device
Open the files app on the iOS device that you are using to capture sessions at your event.
If the Snappic app is already in the list, you can select the Snappic app to access the files, and skip the remaining steps. To add Snappic to the list if it's missing, Tap the three-dot menu button in the top right corner and select Edit.
Under Locations, Snappic should appear. Toggle to enable it. You can now view your locally stored sessions in the Files app.

Advantages and Considerations
Raw Video Support: Original RAW video files will be saved locally.
Burst Mode Support: Individual images from burst mode can be saved.
Watermarked Files Recovery: Recover watermarked files within a certain period (contact support for details).
Local Storage Usage: This option uses your device’s storage, so ensure you have enough space before enabling it. The individual video recordings are particularly large, and can quickly fill up the storage space on devices with less storage.
Limited Availability: Locally saved sessions will be automatically deleted after 7 days unless you manually transfer them to another location.
